Grant Underwood
Assistant General Counsel
Grant Underwood joined the Office of General Counsel at the Texas Tech University System in 2026. In his role, Grant supports the legal needs of the TTU System鈥檚 component institutions (Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Angelo State University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and Midwestern State University). While his practice primarily focuses on contracts, Grant also assists with a broad array of legal issues, including athletics, real estate, and litigation.
A fifth-generation Texan and Lubbock native, Grant practiced at a Lubbock law firm prior to joining the 麻豆天狼副利院. There, his work centered on transactional matters, real property, estate planning, and civil litigation. He is licensed to practice in both Texas and New Mexico. Grant earned his Bachelor鈥檚 degree from Texas Tech University and his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2023.
He and his wife, Madison鈥攁 fellow Texas Tech alumna鈥攅njoy living in Lubbock, attending Texas Tech athletic events, playing golf, cooking together, and spending time with their dog Murphy.
